Football predictions for AEK – Celtic

AEK Athens hosts Celtic in a second leg from the Champions League 3rd qualifying round. Here are our predictions football 1×2 for this clash in the Greek capital.

After a 1-1 draw at the Celtic Park in Glasgow, AEK are a slight favourite to progress to the playoffs. For most pundits Celtic were favourites to win the first match at home soil, but it didn’t work out for them. Callum McGregor gave Celtic the lead after just 17 minutes of play, but AEK’s Viktor Klonaridis equalized just a minute before the half time. Konstantinos Galanopoulos from the away team was sent off in the 57’, which gave Celtic an opportunity to look for the win, but even with ten men on the pitch AEK managed to survive.

For Celtic it’s going to be difficult in Athens. It’s usually pretty tough to play on Greek soil, because the fans are creating a magnificent atmosphere. And above all, AEK have the advantage because of the result in the first leg and their away goal.

Celtic started the new season in the Scottish Premiership with a win over Livingston, but after that Brendan Rodgers’ team suffered a defeat during the visit to Hearts. Celtic are currently 6th in the league standings, but after just two rounds being played.

AEK are still about to begin their participation in the Greek Super League. Their league kicks off at the end of the month, with AEK hosting PAS Giannina. They are lacking match practice in official games, but they did pretty good in Glasgow.

These are our predictions football 1×2 for the Champions League qualifier between AEK Athens and Celtic in the capital of Greece. AEK are a slight favourite because of the 1-1 draw in the first leg, but Celtic won’t give up without a fight.
