Germany welcomes Belarus in Monchengladbach in an European qualifier
With the hope of overtaking Netherlands at the top of the standings, Germany welcomes Belarus in Monchengladbach in an European qualifier from Group C. Let’s see what’s the situation in this group in our football forecast for today.
In order to overtake the Netherlands at the top of the group, Germany can do two things now – beat Belarus and hope that the Dutch team will make a mistake during its difficult visit to Northern Ireland in Belfast. It’s not an impossible scenario, so what the Mannschaft can do now is do their job and hope for the best.
Since their home defeat against the Netherlands, which basically made them lose the first place in the group, Joachim Low’s boys celebrated two consecutive wins against Northern Ireland and Estonia. In these two games the Mannschaft scored five goals and kept two clean sheets.
In Tallinn Germany didn’t face any problems, enjoying a calm and comfortable 3-0 win at the A. Le Coq Arena. Ilkay Gundogan scored a brace for just two minutes of playing, while Timo Werner added one more for the visitors. Germany did it despite of the very early red card which the midfielder Emre Can recieved after just 14 minutes of playing.
Belarus on the other hand are not doing so good in this group, being 4th in the group with just 4 points won so far. They can’t possibly do any better in this group, but on theory they can lose the 4th place to the 5th Estonia.
In our football forecast we don’t have any doubts that Joachim Low’s Germany will do their job against Belarus on Saturday, expecting good news from the game in Belfast. Even if they don’t finish first in the group, of course, it’d be nothing fatal for the Mannschaft. In one thing we are sure – Belarus will concede some goals at the Borussia-Park.
