La Liga soccer predictions for Betis – Barcelona

Barcelona’s new manager Quique Setien will face his former club Real Betis on Sunday when the Catalans travel to Estadio Benito Villamarin in Sevilla. In these La Liga soccer predictions we will preview this intriguing game for you.

This week is not very good for Barca so far because on Thursday the team got dramatically eliminated from Copa del Rey. Los Cules faced Athletic Bilbao away from home and the game was nearing extra time, but Sergio Busquets headed the ball to his own net, which was enough for the Basques to win.

Now it’s up to the manager Setien to restore his players’ confidence. Barcelona are second in La Liga, being three points behind Real Madrid, so they should not allow this gap to be increased. Winning against Real Betis is a must, despite of the fact that the Andalusians are playing at home.

For Real Betis this is not the best season so far. Betis are 12th in La Liga with 28 points, which is not what they aimed for in the beginning of the season. Signing players like Nabil Fekir was a sign of ambition, but so far the manager Rubi and his boys are unable to make a solid impression.

Real Betis won just one of their last five games in the league, which is worrying for sure. In the previous round they only won a point during the visit to Eibar, which ended with 1-1 draw at the Ipurua. Nabil Fekir scored after an assist from Sergio Canales, but Fabian Orellana equalised for Eibar just few minutes later.

That’s our La Liga soccer predictions for the game between Real Betis and Barcelona at the Benito Villamarin on Sunday. We think we have enough reasons to think that this is going to be a huge game. Barca need the points here, but Betis won’t give them a free pass.
