PSV host Haugesund in a second leg from the Europa League

Dutch giants PSV host Haugesund in a second leg from the Europa League third qualifying round. The game is going to be played on Thursday at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven. Here are our today match predictions for this fixture.

Just as it was expected PSV, took an advantage in the first leg on Norwegian soil. The game in Hagesund ended with a 1-0 win for Mark van Bommel’s team, thanks to the winning goal of Steven Bergwijn from a penalty kick in the middle of the first half.

Now PSV are even bigger favourites than in the beginning. Haugesund are facing a very difficult task, because they have to win in Eindhoven in order to progress towards the playoffs. And let’s be real here – PSV are the better team.

In the Dutch Eredivisie PSV started with a draw against Twente, but in their second game they achieved their first win for the season. Van Bommel’s boys hosted ADO Den Haag at home and won the match with 3-1. Bruma, Donyell Malen and Cody Gakpo scored for the home side.

Meanwhile in the Norwegian Eliteserien Haugesund are doing pretty average so far. RIght now they are 8th in the standings with 21 points, trailing on 15 points behind the leader Molde. If they don’t improve their performance, for Haugesund it’s going to be very hard to qualify for Europe again.

In their last league game Jostein Grindhaug’s boys hosted Ranheim at home and suffered a dissapointing 0-1 loss. Eirik Donnem scored the only goal in match just 15 minutes before the end.

These are our today match predictions for the Europa League game between PSV and Haugesund on Thursday. There’s no doubt that the Dutch side is a very strong favourite to progress towards the playoffs of the competition.
